Sliding shutter drive - Prometheus - Electronic controls

The electronic controls that have been specially developed for the sliding shutter operate our motors efficiently and reliably. Depending on the application, different control units are available. Whether you prefer 24 V technology with the control unit installed in a flush-mounted box or in the control cabinet or as a 230 V direct connection with integrated control unit, we have the right variant for every purpose.
Power shutdown
The microprocessor-controlled power shutdown with which all our drives are equipped limits the maximum force exerted by the drive. By measuring excess current and, by extension, power, the control unit detects when the power is too high and switches off the drive. This technology makes it possible to operate drives without the need for additional safety devices such as light barriers or emergency shutdown equipment. The required forces are automatically determined during commissioning.
Soft stop
After commissioning, the control unit knows the duration of a run and can run more slowly towards the end of the track. Not only is this aesthetically pleasing, but it also serves to protect the mechanics.

24V flush mounted

The 24V flush-mounted device is a fully integrated unit consisting of mains adapter, control unit and button cover, and it fits in a flush-mounted box. The mains adapter is hidden in the flush-mounted box, while the control unit remains accessible with the removable button cover.
This variant is very easy to operate via wireless activation: it is simply plugged into a button cover with integrated wireless module without the need for additional cabling. Any number of handheld transmitters can be taught-in by pressing a button on the wireless receiver.

24 V rail-mounted device

The 24 V rail-mounted device is intended for installation in the control cabinet on standardised mounting rails in accordance with the standard DIN EN 50022, with a width of 35 mm (coll. top hat rails). The mains adapter is selected separately, depending on the amount of control units.
Particularly useful in this variant: so-called mounting rail connectors can be used to interconnect the control units. This significantly reduces cabling costs. The group control unit can then be used to combine multiple control units in an individual, group and total controller.

Other features and advantages of 24 V technology

Connection of additional devices
It is also possible to connect additional devices such as wireless remote controls, light, rain and wind sensors, as well as external buttons. Further details can be found in the section Accessories. Potential-free contact means that all controls are modularly conceivable: a customer-side bus system via a potential-free actuator, additional sensor or conventional group controllers, and installation in control cabinets are all possible thanks to the standard existing potential-free Open/Stop/Close input.

Settings for additional functions
Different speeds can be selected using a DIP switch, while you can also switch between semi-automatic and deadman modes. In semi-automatic mode, the drive continues to run, even when the control button is no longer pressed. This continues until a pulse is given off in the opposite direction or until the drive runs against an obstacle or reaches the end of the track. In deadman mode, the drive switches off as soon as the control button has been released.

Simple laying of cables
No special cables or connectors are required to use the motor and control unit. All that is needed is a 230 V power supply to the control unit and a 2-wire cable with a sufficient cross-section between the motor and control unit. Alternatively, additional potential-free switches can be connected by means of a 3-wire cable, as described above.

24 V technology for maximum safety
Since the complex and high-voltage live parts are on the inside with 24 V motor technology, you always have access to the control unit for servicing and maintenance work. The use of a low voltage in the outdoor area ensures maximum safety and easy connection.

230V direkt connection

In the event that a 230 V connection has already been prepared, our 230 V direct connection motor can be used. The control unit is encapsulated and thus protected from moisture and contact in an additional housing integrated in the motor.

Connection options
A range of four-wire, three-wire or two-wire connections provide you with many options, regardless of the type of cabling. The four-wire connection including L, N, Open and Closed allows you to actuate using buttons as well as with integrated wireless. If there are only three wires, you connect N, Open and Closed. The motor can then be operated with a switch. If only L and N come out of your power cable or wall socket, the motor can be supplied by these two wires and actuated by wireless.
